CATCHING MUTHER EFFING FIRE!

I solemnly swear I am up to no good . . .

Hello my friends of the internet! :D okay so the reason for why I am posting this late is because I had a lot of homework and I barely finished mere moments ago.

OKAY!! So I only wish to talk about one thing this weekend because it is probably the only major thing that happened from when I last wrote. AND THE MOST EPIC!! (well not so much epic as the last Harry Potter movie but you get the point).

WARNING! THIS UPDATE WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS SO IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE, DO NOT. I REPEAT, DO NOT READ THIS POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened, you may ask? Well that’s easy . . . THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

THE HUNGER GAMES . . . . CATCHING MUTHER EFFING FIRE!!!!

O_O

This beautiful diamond of a movie is what happened to me. On Thursday at midnight. And yesterday at 5:30.  Yes. That’s right. I watched it twice, because It was that good. (Well actually I went the second time because I promised my sisters I would take them since I couldn’t take them to the premiere).

No but seriously, you guys. That movie was so incredibly and incontrovertibly amazing. I honestly, and I am not afraid to say this, cried three times.

Once:  when the old man was shot in district 11

Twice: when Cinna was killed

Three (and probably the worst and most): EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY SHOWED MAGS! :’’’’’’’’(
That woman is probably the embodiment of innocence (aside from Rue in the first movie and book). And every time I saw her sweet and lovely face and smile and her short, fragile stance. . . . I JUST CAN’T!!!!!!

Poor old woman. :’’’’’’(   She was very much a matriarch like Katniss . Up until her very end. She won her games, raised another victor as her own, volunteered for the fiancĂ© of the one he raised, and then sacrificed herself to let her boy continue to live a little longer.   ISN’T THAT JUST SO SAD!!??? So in eulogy of this fine, strong, beautiful, fictional woman, let us pay silence to her and all of the other tributes such as the brave female morphling
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .

And with that, I seal my sorrow and mourning over Mags’s death. -___- at least until I think about her or see the movie or read the book again :’(

But yes. I think the movie was as close as you could get to the book . . . as far as films go at least. Very accurate and I remember reading the book and feeling it go the same pace as the movie did. Overall it was a GREAT adaption and it had awesome character development, EXCELLENT emotional grief and, exhilarating adrenaline.

I give this movie a 99.9% out of 100.

The last one percent because of some things and I will explain them. Remember this is just my opinion and I do not wrong anyone who had anything to do with the movie.

1)      I don’t know or remember if in the beginning of the book, when it says “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand,” was right before Katniss heard Gale walk behind her and that is the reason for why she stood up; to ready herself for an attack like it showed in the movie . . . but I don’t think that is how it went in the book. Now, I am not saying that bothered me, but it was a major line in the book and for them to put that line on a movie poster, you would think they would stay true to that small detail in the book and portray it in the movie. However then again, it worked quite well with her preparing to attack as well. besides, she stood up nonetheless.

2)      PLUTARCH’S WATCH!!!  -___- wasn’t shown in the movie.   I really REALLY REALLY anticipated that part. :/ but oh well.

3)      I knew Twill and Bonnie weren’t going to be shown in the movie as well but DANG, I didn’t realize how much that part was needed for the sake of the plot, both in the book and the movie. It was how Katniss first heard about District 13’s possible existence.

4)      And because of Twill and Bonnie’s cut from the movie, then of course the part where Katniss sees the shot of the mockingjay in the corner of the tv was cut out as well. I really anticipated that as well…BUT I guess that was redeemed when Katniss saw the shot of her symbol while entering the tunnel leading to District 11.

5)      Hazelle wasn’t shown at all, or Gale’s siblings . . . I know they aren’t important, but I think they kind of HAVE to be shown, don’t you all think so?? The same thing with Peeta’s mother. And needless to say, and I think I speak for all of the fans when I say Madge’s absence from the entire series is probably the major hole that still needs to be filled up in these movies, no matter how epic they are. I NEED to see Madge          -____- but I know this is not possible. . . .

Regardless, I loved that movie and definitely think it was 10000000% better than the first one. Francis Lawrence took the movie to an entirely new level and I thank him for that. I feel like these movies have reached their much deserved potential and I am satisfied with Catching Fire nonetheless J

And as soon as I got home from the premiere I stayed up trying to ease my overreacting imagination and I ended up writing A LOT! I worked on my own books for a good while and fell asleep happy J  I was a happy nerd.

Until Mockingjay part 1, my imagination and anticipation will only continue to catch fire.

But until then I will have to keep my mischief managed. ;) GO WATCH CATCHING FIRE!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Bye now . . . . .

I Am A Delinquent Rebel Of Badassdom Because I Am Excited About Setting The Governor On Fire!

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. . .

Hello people of the internet how are you this fine Saturday evening? I hope you are all doing quite well, because I have something nothing short of interesting to share with you. First of all the gates of Hell City have finally been reached and you can perhaps very vividly within your own heads imagine me walking out in a triumphant strut. Behind me is burning chaos of fire that consumes everything and every dead person that represent ounces of my stress. They all are ablaze as the gates now seal forever (at least until Finals start).

I also have to apologize yet again. I now I haven’t posted anything in forever. But my excuse this time is that the wifi that surrounds my house has apparently been having some technical difficulties. That and add the fact that I’m literally reading two books weekly for two different classes! @_@ (that’s my overwhelmed face). . . yeah. . . you can say that even after midterms things haven’t slowed down.

But anyway, I think to redeem my lack of professionalism and promise to update every Saturday I have to give you my best effort at entertaining you. So I will start by talking about what happened to me Monday of two weeks ago. ready? Ok. I do not know if you recall an earlier post dealing with me running around like a lunatic at my school? If you don’t it should be TWO posts before this one. Well at any rate, a similar unfortunate event happened to me two weeks ago. :)

I live in San Diego, and the way I commute to school and back home is by trolley. Two trolleys and a bus to be exact To ride these modes of transportation everyone requires what’s called a compass card as a valid fare. To get one, you need 7 bucks, plus 5 or 9 or 12 or 15 or 60 additional dollars depending on how many days you require it either for a day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, or for an entire month. I always buy 4 days.

SO . . . this is where my dilemma started:

 - After I finish school I go home. Get on the trolley towards downtown. I put on my earphones and start listening to Trashing Days by The Notwist.

- There I am, minding my own business with my Compass Card tucked neatly inside my sweater pocket.

- The trolley arrives at my stop. I get up off my seat and take my hand (that’s inside my sweater pocket) and right when I step out of the trolley, I hear a tiny, flat item hit the ground. I stop, I turn around.

- The crowd of people hurrying to get on the other trolley is rushing passed me and I begin to panic because when I reach into my pocket I expect to find my compass card. . . my pocket is empty.

- I start to sweat as I walk upstream, up to where I thought I heard my card hit the ground. Instead I find this very tall man probably in his mid 40’s talking in some strange language that I think comes from somewhere in the middle east. He’s in a hurry. Yet he looks directly at me, starts talking to me very quickly and points somewhere far, as if to another person waking off with something that belongs to me . . . as if he tells me “That person stole your Compass Card. You can’t get it back anymore, bye bye!” then he runs off.

- Everything happens so fast. I don’t know what to think other than “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? WHAT THE F**K? SH*T! NOO!!!”

- I try to hold my cool. I figured it was no use. There were at least forty people walking in the direction that man supposedly saw the thief run off with my dropped item. So I just stand there looking like an idiot for a minute or two, and I’m panting.

- Instead of actually DOING SOMETHING, I just continue walking to my other trolley. But when I get to the proper transfer station, I sit at a bench, realizing something. “Maybe I still have another 20!” I take out my wallet. Open it up. . . nothing. NOTHING!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!???

- I panic again. I tell myself “think, Gabriel. Think. It’s no use saying something to the authorities because they won’t do a thing. The guy or women who stole it is probably far away by now. You don’t have any more money to buy a new one. And if the trolley police (yes. There is an actual trolley police here believe it or not) catches me riding without a valid fare, I’ll get in trouble. They’ll take me to a cell and make me pay some ridiculous fee. So WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO!?”

- I lift my head from my palms and I put on a face. One that I really really really RARELY put on: the face of Badassdom. The face of a complete delinquent. The face of a Shits-About-To-Get-Real, Badassdom Delinquent rebel who’s about to run from the law!!!!! . . . yeah. THAT FACE!

- I stand up. I calm myself. Put on my backpack. Walk a couple of steps forward. Put my hands around my back. Clench my jaw. Make my eyelids heavy. And turn my head to the trolley that is coming my way and as it passes me, I turn my head forward. When it stops, I’m looking directly in front of the door. It opens and I stand my ground for a second looking at the steps thinking to myself: “The time has come, my dear friend . . .”

- I step in and find a lone seat. As I sit down I lay my backpack on my lap and take a deep breath. The adrenaline starts to kick in. the chances are remote that the trolley police WON’T get on and check me at ANY POINT in time for the duration of my journey home. . . but I make the dangerous decision to stay on anyway. (Oh yes. I’m such a bad ass)

- The trolley starts to move and when I look at both ends of my cart, the side of my lip lifts and my brows slant. “So it begins,” I think.

- THEN, as the trolley rounds the first station in the city, my journey seems to face the first obstacle. I look out the window and jump. There are two police men, ready with their small handheld devices they use to check the compass cards. My heart starts racing! I look at the door as it opens and then back at them. I stand but then something peculiar happens. The two men don’t get on. I sit back down. Slowly. Very slowly. I wait for the longest second of my life and every sound seems to dim away . . . the doors of the trolley close. And the two men remain standing, looking directly AT me. Then the trolley moves again.

- I sit back, thinking. “Was that luck? Or was it . . . some sort of coincidence?”

- I realize it must be luck the ore stations I pass because not a SINGLE policeman gets on my cart and checks me. NOT ONE!

- The adrenaline that shoots through my veins starts to cease and my sweat fades. I start to doubt the easiness of this difficult journey being mere coincidence because as the trolley leaves the city and heads farther down, I realize that I might just make it home unnoticed. No. it’s not coincidence. It’s LUCK!

- I smile at this fact. - At the moment I realize me getting caught isn’t going to happen I put on my earphones again and listen to Day 7 by the Notwist. (I really like that group. They calm me down) - Then . . . . . . . . . . .

- About two stops before mine, I lift my head from the window and look away from the mesmerizing view when I hear something that makes me crinnnnnnnngggggeeeeeee: “PLEASE TAKE OUT YOUR PASSES OR TICKETS!! TICKETS AND PASSES!!”

- I think “Sh*t . . .” my heart starts to race again, I grab my back pack and look to the end of the cart. There was one man checking everyone. I look to the other end. There was another one. I was directly in the middle, which was good because that gave me enough time for me to get out. But as soon as I stand up to race towards the door, they close. I press the button for them to open again. But as soon as my finger presses it, the trolley moves. “NO! NO NO!!” I think. I turn to the sides. The two men are getting closer!

- I look directly in front of me. And my eyes close. “That’s it. I tried. Any moment now, one of the men will tap my shoulder and they’ll ask for the very thing that got stolen from me by some thief. . . it’s over.”

- I wait. The train’s momentum makes my body sway back and forth. The music is so soothing to me and the a/c makes my hair sway and dance on my head. I give a little nod and accept defeat.

- Then the trolley stops and my eyes open when I hear “excuse me.”

- I open my eyes and look to my sides. BOTH policemen ask me to move away. I do. And they walk down the steps and out into the station . . . without asking me a single . . . thing. The doors close and the trolley moves. I stand there, my jaw hanging open, my eyes unable to blink. Everything dims again, every sound ceases to exist. But not because of adrenaline. If not, of an innumerable amount of awe. “I made it,” I kept thinking. “It was like I was invisible . . . I’m a survivor. . . I’m going to be OKAY!!!” I smile :)

- The trolley rounded my station. The doors opened and I walked down the steps and as soon as my feet stepped on the black top I felt the rush of the wind and the rays of the sun hit me. As if I made it out of some sort of action movie, I begin walking. Like a complete and utter delinquent rebel of Badassdom. ;)

Yep. Believe it or not, that’s what happened to me that Monday. Pretty funny how EVERYTHING happens to me on that day. If I recall, my previous dilemma happened on a Monday, if I’m not mistaken. Or was it a Wednesday? I don’t remember. The point is the first three days of the week for me always tend to be pretty dramatic and eventful. But somehow I always pull through. I’m a survivor, whether it is out of sheer luck or not. I am :) and I’m proud.

Let’s see. What other things can I talk about that happened to me lately?

OH YES!!! Now, I need to be very frank with you. I’m a good student. I get A’s and B’s. I’ve only gotten C’s twice in my life. Never D’s or F’s. . . In high school that is.

In COLLEGE, however, all of that changes. I’m serious. Everything changes. I made it out of Hell City, but like every war, not one soldier comes out undamaged. I’m failing 2 of my classes, you guys :/ 2!!!! And there’s not a lot of time left for me to pick them up!! With finals around the corner, they can either stay F’s or turn into something much more impressive.

And like everything else in my life that is school related, my stress levels go off the charts. So it is pointless to say that I’M DYING AT THE MOMENT!!!! >_<

That was the MAIN reason why I didn’t post something LAST week, particularly. I just spent the entire weekend worrying and being depressed about what to do. I literally spent the entirety of those two days in my bed with a horrible face. And when my mother saw me she asked me what was wrong. I told her my problem . . . and then she told me something that I want to share with you guys and gals.

Whenever you find yourself having trouble with school or with your relationships or WHATEVER it may be this is what you have to keep in mind. NOT VERYTHING IN LIFE IS GOING TO TURN OUT THE WAY YOU PLAN IT TO BE!!! It’s just a matter of time before something goes wrong. The key is to learn from those mistakes and understand that making mistakes is what school’s about . . . heck, that’s what LIFE’S about! In my case, I have to learn to deal with getting a bad grade. Because I’m a nerd, I’m so used to getting A’s and B’s because that’s my way of knowing that my life is under control.

But that’s not always going to be the case, and i’m learning that this semester. I know now that when things turn out wrong I take it to the breaking point and I get so so so dramatic and think the world is going to end. But no! As a wise man once told me, what I’m dealing with now is not a problem. It’s an inconvenience. A problem is being diagnosed with cancer. A problem is finding out how you’re going to deal with the death of a family member. A problem is stressing over how you are going to feed yourself and your family. A problem is getting your identity stolen, or learning how to walk again after a major accident, or learning how to write without the proper limbs, or being stalked, or hiding from the law, or losing your child, or being kidnapped, becoming deaf after surviving an explosion, or waking up from a coma. . . THOSE are problems. Going through a break up, or family drama, or losing your trolley compass card, even getting an F is an INCONVENIENCE!! And we absolutely HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO learn that -___-

So if you’re going through an inconvenience, just stop and think “Okay. . . What’s the worst thing that can happen? If I get an F/ break up with my boyfriend or girlfriend, I’ll just try again/ work on enjoying time with myself/ WHATEVER it may be!”

And I learned this when this happened: Mom – “what’s wrong?”

Me – “I have an F”

Mom – 0_0 “REALLY!!???” *runs up and hugs me* “CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR FIRST F, I’M SO PROUD!”

Me – O.o . . . . . . .“Yeah. You’re right. Thank you.”

You all see what I’m saying? Maybe? Now, if some of you are dealing with actual problems at the moment then I want to let you know that the best way to deal with it take the situation AS IF it were an inconvenience. I think that by doing this, your subconscious mind may start to think that it is not as bad as it seems and then this will trigger another thing: hope. Hope is important. And don’t be like me and LOSE it like I did with my Compass card. They’re two different things. If you lose hope, then maybe you won’t even get off the trolley. I didn’t lose hope and look at what happened? I got off and got home safe and sound.

Hope is important. Don’t lose it and things WILL work out. :)

On another note SPEAKING OF HOPE BEING THE STRONGEST THING!!!! CATCHING F***EN FIRE COMES OUT ON THURDAY! OH MY GERD OH MY GERD I AM SO READY OR THIS MOVIE!!! I read all three in a month and I loved them!!!! Such a rush!!! And I know the movie will be unforgettable >8) SO BRING IT ON, BEATCHES!!

Who’s going to see it in IMAX!? Who’s got their tickets already? I AM AND I DO!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH!! AND ANOTHER THING!!!! THE GOVERNOR IS BAAAACKKK!!!!! I don’t know if y’all watch probably one of the best shows of all time, THE WALKING DEAD, but I DO! AND THE GOVERNOR OF WOODBURY IS BACK!!!!! :’’’’’’))))))

I hate that man so much, and he’s back to EFF things up for Rick and the group. And YOU KNOW it’s going to get CARRRAAAAYYYYZEEEEEE!!!!!
I can’t wait for tomorrow night!!!

I hope this post was entertaining enough. I know I’ve been lagging it to the absolute max. But bear with me, my lovely people. I’m trying my best. I haven’t forgotten about you AT ALL!!! Remember, you all are my online friends. :)

Unless I lose my arms in an accident, I would never forget about typing or writing . . . like EVER! It’s the only way of keeping my sanity.

And with that I say Mischief Managed . . . bye now ;)

An Anniversary Of Satisfaction! You Should Be Scared. You Should Be Really Scared . . . Like, Scared Feces-Less.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good . . .

And I seriously am not :( I want to start things off with an apology. I know I didn’t upload anything these last couple of weekends and my excuse for that is because I’m a university student. And that implies that school work by the dozen and stress by the mother-load . . . And tests by double, hence why I haven’t posted anything in a while. I was studying my bottom off all week this week and the last. I have taken a total of 3 midterms as of now. Next week I will take 2 more. I hope you all would forgive me . . . I truly a sorry but I hope you just bear with me.

But this weekend I have found more time for myself and therefore plan to update :)

So i guess there's one interesting thing that happened to me during my time of absence that i wish to share with all of you. I went back to my high school’s 50th homecoming game and I was a part of the Alumni! I felt really strange because I’m nineteen years old but I truly feel like I’m sixteen . . . which is bad, considering I sometimes think myself as a useless person who does nothing all day but study and read and write. Yeah. I have no life. :)

SO what happened that day? Well I woke up five minutes before the event (the morning of game day, there is a pep rally on the stadium and since it was the school’s 50th anniversary, FIFTY generations of alumni filled the field up corner to corner (well not really but yeah). I walked on the field and i kid you not, I seriously felt like I was going to be the only one of my graduating class because all I saw were old people and slightly older people than me. And of course people from the class before me. But NOBODY but me was standing under the C/O 2012 sign. And I felt really uneasy.

But luckily one of my good friends showed up as well . . . and another . . . and another . . . and another . . . . and another . . . and another . . . and another.

In total, there were seven of us and tens and tens of the ones before us. But, we weren’t the class with the fewest. The most recent alumni class, C/O 2013 had but two people. I felt bad. But it was okay, they took it like champs. So anyway, when the rally started, the 50th class president announced all of the generations from ’63 to ’13 and I felt like I won the Superbowl or something when my class walked under the arch. It was so loud and there was A LOT of confetti so you can imagine the adrenaline rush! So yes. We sat down and the rally continued.

The many presidents gave emotional speeches about school spirit and their memories about their four years and what it is to be a Trojan and all that mushy stuff. And I’m not going to lie. I felt like tearing up. I’m a mushy kind of guy. Deal with it. After that, all of the performances were up and that was pretty cool. And must I say, after some twenty years, people can still move as if their seventeen. Good job, yo!

AND THEN I SAW MY LITTLE SISTER CHEER!!! SHE WAS SO GOOD AND I FELT SO PROUD! PROUD BIG BROTHER I WAS AND I WAS HAPPY AND SCREAMED THE LOUDEST FOR MY SISTER, WHOM I’M VERY PROUD OF! :) Did I mention I was proud? Of my sister?

After she finished, she ran to me and gave me a great hug and all her friends and my friends AWWWWWWED our brotherly sisterly love. After the rally was over, the alumni were taken to the gym that was somehow transformed into memory lane. Fifty year books were set on al long table and on the stage stood a lot of pictures and diplomas of hall of famers in both areas of sports and scholarship. AND THERE WAS CAKE!! LOTS AND LOTS OF CAKE, which wasn’t very good in my opinion. And then they took out the time capsule. All I can say is that it smelled. Like ammonia (can ammonia smell?). it was an old gray cement tube that had a love note, a declaration of some sort signed by the 1963 cross country team, a shriveled up championship baseball, and an ID card, among other things.

- On a side note, I didn’t know the principal had a twin! I was amazed.

There was also a desk that had a lot of index cards stacked up. I asked what they were and the lady said they were for the next time capsule for the 100th anniversary. All we had to do was write a message or something for the future generations to read. My friends wrote a lot . . . and I wrote something cheesy like “I hope you are married and have lots of grandchildren by the time this is read.” Yeah. I should have written something funnier. But oh well. That seems like a good long term goal anyway . . . right?

So after that my friends and I took a lot of pictures and then we went to visit a whole bunch of our favorite teachers and then we went to eat gourmet Mexican cuisine (not really. They were Carne Asada Fries and chips). Then we went to my house to hang out for a while and then when 5:30 came along, we were picked up by another friend of ours and we went to the homecoming game. I had free access though because I was given the golden ticket. I’m cool. I see Willy Wonka all the time and eat a lot of candy like Agustus Gloop. You may now feel jealousy run through thy veins. . . .

The stadium was PACKED! But since we got there early, we got good seats.

Now comes the interesting part.

You see, in all of my life I would never have guessed that I would become the overprotective older brother. But I am a firm believer In that everything happens for a reason. And that’s just being prefaced by saying that YES! I AM THE WORLD’S MOST OVERPROTECTIVE BROTHER. And not only do I have to protect one. But two. I have to keep one eye on one twin and the second on the other. I promise you, on that night I swear I felt my left eye was nowhere NEAR the right one. That and combined with an angry face, I think I must have looked pretty darn funny. But I was not laughing. I was finally doing what life has brought me to this world to do.

My sisters are very popular. Even more popular than I was (I was not very popular at all). One is a cheerleader and the other one is equally as beautiful as the other. So of course EVERY sexually active teenage male delinquent wants to make them feel “happy.” But not only do my eyes move separately in opposite directions but they can see through the outer shell of people and I can see who wants to take advantage of my little girls and who doesn’t and let me just say that my special ability had me on my guard the ENTIRE night! One twin was cheering though, so I maintained control. It was the other one, the rebel that I had to take care of more carefully.

Funny story, actually: Karina (the rebel) asked me if it was okay to look for Daniel (the 17 year old twin). Now, mind you, my sisters are both THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. THIRTEEN! THAT’S ONE THREE! Daniel is the “love interest" of Karen (the cheerleader). This question meant two things.

1) If I said yes, she might have gone and look for Angel (the 16 year old “friend” of Karina) instead of finding the “friend” of her sister.

2) If I said no, she would just ignore the answer anyway and do what she felt like doing without my say. . . . with great hesitation, I said yes but with a condition: that she and Daniel come back and sit right in front of me where I can keep an eye on him. She agreed and sprinted out of my sight.

Now here is the highlight of my night:

About thirty seconds after Karina left, out of the corner of my eye I see Daniel himself coming down the stairs. The hairs of my neck stand up and freeze. I don’t turn to him but from what I can see, he is looking for Karina . . . then he does something that I am still debating should give me satisfaction or the feeling that I am a horrible person.
He spots me sitting down looking near him (I’m actually looking at Karen cheering in the distance) and then he stops, widens his eyes in, what I can make out, pure and utter fear, tenses his lips and cringes, then slowly turns around and walks away from me slowly as if I were some Basilisk that kills with one single look of the eye.
All I did was furrow my eyebrows and grin. Grin a lot. “He’s scared of me,” I thought. “He knows I’ll kill him if he does anything to my sisters . . . Exxxcccceeellleeennnttt,” (evil mastermind voice).

It wasn’t until Karina and Daniel came back together a minute later that I confirmed what I thought. Me and Daniel made eye contact and he looked away, taking a good three steps back from my Karina. She told him to sit down next to her and he did. Slowly. Carefuly. With painstaking caution. And I did nothing but feel like GOD!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! FEEL MY WRATH, PEASANT!!!!!!!
What made it even more funny is that my friends have known my sisters for a long time and they know that I get protective and about an hour after Daniel came to sit with us, my good friend Ruth asked me “Gabriel, are you an overprotective brother?” And me, having completely eased up and almost forgotten that Daniel was sitting, praying for me to even consider sparing his life, answered out loud (almost yelled it out) “HELL YESS!!!!” and meant it.
And that is when I realized Daniel was still sitting in front of me. Everybody but him laughed. Unfortunately for him I had no time to make up something funny to lighten the tension and awkwardness for him because our school made a touchdown and all of us, even me, screamed in excitement. After that, the night went on and then the fireworks went about and the homecoming queen was chosen and WE WON THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY HOMECOMING GAME!! The night was a blast. I saw a lot of my friends, some more drunk than others, and we all felt the nostalgic love all around. Then we said our goodbyes and I snatched my sisters away from Daniel a second after they said goodbye to each other and left him standing there. Alone. Oh so awkwardly alone. And once again I felt satisfied.

I love it when things unintentionally go my way. I value it more when it does. Will I ever warm up to Daniel and the 16 year old guy, Angel? The two seniors I should strangle for even thinking about being with my THIRTEEN year old sisters who are THIRTEEN YEARS OLD!!!????????

No.

Because they are 16 and 17 and my sisters are THIRTEEN YEARS OF AGE!!!! As far as I’m concerned, the boys are almost legal. And it is ILLEGAL for a child to be with an adult, sexually . . . ILLEGEAL!! Am I being overprotective and overreacting?

No.

Should I change my ways of thinking and just accept that age is just a number and that many people have even had children at thirteen?

No.

I don’t care if the times have changed. They are my sisters and MY norm is that no. Just no. Not until my sisters are older and more aware of things and a tad bit less innocent. Age is just a number, yes. And a jail cell is just a barred gray, dull, depressing, dangerous room where the only colors you will see is orange (the uniforms) and red (of the unnecessary blood that might be spilled). A lot of red. . . and we don’t want any of THAT to happen . . . now do weeeeeeeee? (Evil mastermind voice)

. . . wow. That was a lot for just one event. And that is okay because the rest of my weekends were filled with studying and studying and studying. And nobody wants to hear about how THAT went. In a word, boring, in case you do want to know. The good news is I can see the exit gates of Hell city! So that is good too. The battle is almost done :)

. . . and with that, I say mischief managed ;) (Unless you want to try and get with my sisters. Then I’ll cause more mischief than I can manage at all)

Monday and The World War That Is To Happen In Hell City . . . Wish Me Luck!

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

HELLO AGAIN, beautiful world of the internet. How are you? Good? I hope so because I am currently standing at the gates of stress plaza, which is right inside Hell City.

The reason for my oh so uninteresting choice of words is that next week is the start of midterms for my classes. AND BOY OH BOY IS THERE A LOT TO DO! I’m a very stressful and dramatic person so I take my worry VERY seriously! But then again it’s good because if I wasn’t then I wouldn’t care. Stress is good but everything has a limit.

ANYWAY (why do I keep writing in caps?) that’s not the dilly here *Dilly means deal* I’m prefacing this by saying that I Kind of have not much to talk about but what I have is interesting.

First of all, my week was short. Yesterday was traumatizing because I forgot to turn in my essay. Thursday was even worse because I failed a quiz. Wednesday was better but still odd for some reason. Tuesday was the best day because I decided not to go to school. I was lazy. And I only have one class on Tuesday so I figured there was no point. Now, MONDAY IS A DIFFERENT STORY! (There I go with the caps again)
To explain what happened on the first day of last week I will create a bullet point list to replace my Random Thoughts. They will return next weekend when hopefully the fire in my head clears off.

 Gabe’s Monday Adventure

• I woke up ready to have a good day.
• Got to school 10 minutes early and waited patiently in my seat.
• Had my first class and took good notes
• Had lunch and rested a little for my 2 hour break
• Time for second class. I go. I sit. I wait . . . and wait . . . and wait . . . . . . . . AND WAIT!
• A lady comes through the door with a bubbly personality and asks if we’re Professor Jerry’s class. The class responds with a blank “Yes.” The woman giggles and says “Your professor is sick. You may go home, he will come back Wednesday.”
• I try to hold in my anger because I stayed at for an unnecessary three additional hours FOR NOTHING! But either way I was happy to go home before 4 o’clock.
• I go to the trolley station with three minutes to spare before the trolley arrived. But it didn’t. So I waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . . AND WAITED! After the hour and thirty minutes passed everything in the station turns off. It’s dark. Girls squeal. Guys pretend not to panic. I DO panic. Then lights start to flicker and this beeping noise deafens me!
• Police men storm in the station and yell out “Everybody has to bail! Trolleys aren’t coming”
• I hold back my anger once again but a little slips out and I clench my teeth and curse silently at everything and everyone
• I check my iphone that doesn’t even have service and it reads 4 percent battery. I start to panic again because my parents are in Mexico with no way to contact each other. My sisters are at home but they do not have a phone.
• I walk ALL AROUND CAMPUS to HOPEFULLY find someone that I know. I search literally every main building in the university. The sun is scorching. I’m sweating like a pig. Desperate and alone.
• I then go to my library, the last building I have not checked. I search through 5 floors. Nothing. Sixth and last floor. Nothing. I start to consider sleeping at a bench like a hobo until someone cares to take me in from the streets. I decide to simply find a bench and sit . . . forever.
• I’m almost out the door near some couches when I hear something odd. The sound of a finger punching a key on a keyboard. The clicking is fast, angry. I turn my head and then I see him.
• MY FRIEND MILTON IS SITTING COMFORTABLY WITH HIS LEGS ON A STOOL AND HE HAS HIS LAPTOP. And he curses at the screen. Inside my head. I jump for joy.
• I walk to him and he looks up and we greet each other. But that’s all. He’s still clicking and looking at the screen with an occasional “Dammit!” here and there.
• I ask what he’s doing and he responds “Playing League of Legends.” I think: Of course. And then I laugh and ask “Do you happen to have an Iphone charger.”
• He looks at me and then searches through his back pack, TAKES OUT THE CONNECTOR and not the wire. He gives it to me and then returns to his computer. I freeze for a second, and then ask “Do you have the wire by any chance?”
• He looks at me again and then searches through his bag . . . then he looks at me again and answers. “No. sorry.”
• I frown. And then sit against the wall. I give back the connector.
• My friend gets killed in his game. Then take my iphone out again and it reads 2 percent. I give up. And wait. And listen to my friend continue to click the key with such a hypnotized craze in his eye. Then I realize something.
• I look through my Facebook friends and search for Alejandra. I message her: “Hey you still at school?” she replies “I’m in class.” I JUMP FOR JOY in my head again. But then I panic because I realize my phone was going to die at any second. I message “Oh cool! Where is your class. I’ll meet you there, I need a charger.” She responds with the class number.
• I then begin to type: “Is it okay if I g . . . .” Then my phone goes through a painless electronic death. And I suffer greatly. I get to my aching feet and turn to my friend. “Bye Milton, see you later!” I yelp. As I turn the corner I hear him respond ever so quietly: “Kay, take caarreee.” The last thing I hear from him is the continuous clicking.
• I RUN LIKE I’VE NEVER RAN BEFORE across the entire campus again and walk down some stairs to get to then a small little square with a fountain. I take a deep breath, realizing the class has not ended yet. The I sit down and wait.
• A guy next to me asks for the time and then I have to search through my backpack for my watch. I find it and I say the time. Then I look over to the class and half the class is already out and I freak. I stand and hope that Alejandra walks out. . . She doesn’t (TAN TAN TAAAAAAAANNNN)
• I speed into the classroom, figuring she went out through the other side. I go as fast as I can. Walk UP four flights of stairs and find the exit door. I step out and search for her in the passing crowd of hundreds of bodies. I don’t see her. I turn my head to the left. Nothing. To the right. My heart stops because I see her looking at me. She decides to go back the way I CAME INTO THE SQUARE! I yell out her name but she doesn’t hear me!
• I run after her but the flowing river of bodies is so dense, running upstream is almost impossible without being rude and shoving people out of my way. I finally reach the entrance to the square and I run down the stairs again and I see her. She’s looking for me and I run to her and then she turns around and then we crash into each other.
• “I WAS CHASING YOU!” I panted. She says “I know, I walked out the opposite side.” I say “I know I kind of realized.”
• Then she says “do you need the charger?” and I reply “No it doesn’t matter. I was actually going to tell you that the trolley’s aren’t in service for us to go home!” her mouth drops and then I nod my head screaming “I KNOW RIGHT!!!” only for her to respond “It doesn’t matter, I don’t take the trolleys on Mondays.”
• My eye lids become heavy and I think: Why did I get the feeling. I then open my mouth to ask her for the hugest favor IN THE WORLD but she beats me to the punch by asking “Well, do you need a ride?”
• I smile and then I, in such bereavement answer with my hands held together, “Yes.” I start to laugh. “Can I get a ride?”
• “Yeah sure,” she answers. Then I walk ACROSS CAMUS YET AGAIN! I meet her mom. She’s a nice person. She offered me a sandwich on the way home. But I kindly refused even though my stomach was practically YELLING at me for not accepting the offer.
• Nonetheless, I sit back, and take a deeeeeeeeeep looooooong breath. I’ve never exhaled such a wonderful lungful of air before in my life.
• I get home. Go upstairs and take the longest nap of my lie.

MORAL OF STORY: by the time you get to college, it is IMPERATIVE you become a licensed driver and have a car. IMPERATIVE!!

So yeah! That was my Monday. Cray, huh? SO CRAZY! I felt like I lived through an Indiana Jones movie.

As for books, well I haven’t really read anything since Frankenstein but we did go over some poems in my English class. One of them was “Ode to the Grecian Urn.” Here’s what I thought about it:

1) In “Ode on a Grecian Urn” we are put into perspective that the images of the urn itself: two lovers about to embrace are stuck within time. If we think deeper than the urn itself, we realize that this is a bitter sweet idea. As it describes at first, “Thou canst not leave thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare; Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss.” This tells us that although the two lovers are stuck in time and blissful state of being on the verge of embracing, they will never get to follow their love through. Meaning that they will never get to fulfill the anticipation of being in love. This is the bitter part. On the opposite side, and a little further into the poem, it says “She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss, Forever wilt thou love, and she be fair!” This tells us that even though they will never get to follow their love through and onward, they are stuck in this blissful state forever and shall never become disappointed of one another and will always love each other. “Cold pastoral” signifies that the urn itself is cold. And this can be related to death by evidence of what an urn holds inside: Ashes. Pastoral can signify biblical reference to a Shepard. So whether a Shepard leads sheep – lovers – into their formation – love – the urn will always be cold. Death will always come to end their love.

:) Such a lovely meaning, don’t you think?

As for movies, I JUST SAW WORLD WAR Z! OH. MY. GOODNESS. GRACIOUS! It was FANTASTIC!!
Here are my thoughts:

1) THE MUSIC WAS PHENOMENAL!
2) The storyline was epic, it was fast, it was enjoyable!
3) THE SUSPENCE KEPT MY HEART RACING AS FAST AS MY LEGS DID ON MONDAY! I loved the bottom moral of the story in general: to keep fighting if you can, and to help one another.
4) My favorite line in the movie was five simple words. “Nature is a serial killer.” Boom. BOOM! That got to me. Got me thinking about EVERYTHING SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE HISTORY OF EVER! If you think about it, nature really is a “b**ch” (excuse my language, that was a quote frorm the movie as well)
5) The one thing I didn’t like was the character development. I don’t think, or I didn’t SEE any. But that’s just my opinion. I’m sure there was but I was too nervous to recognize it throughout the entire movie hahahaha.

So that’s it! I’m sorry I don’t really have much to tell today. This week, again, has been a total nightmare. Hopefully things go smoother this week. Wish me luck as I enter the gates of Hell City . . .

And with that, I say Mischief Managed ;)

I'm a Feminist and I Love Emma's Stupidity

HELLO!!! I'm back!!! so since i'm a college student and have literally 100 things to do, I've decided to update this thing every Saturday :) just so you guys know.

For the first official post, I would like to say a few things. First of all, when I say “Random Thoughts,” I do not mean that they will pop out at random, like a jack in the box. What the name implies is that the thoughts are random and have no correlation or relation with each other whatsoever. Second of all, I use A LOT of little emoticons so you WILL see those consistently. Thirdly, I have a very erratic mother who has such a unique sense of humor. She will be included in these random thoughts. :D Um . . . what else? I think that’s about it. ENJOY, my peoples:

 Random thoughts #1 September 28, 2013.

*Robotic voice over* Random Thoughts section completed.

This week I had to read Frankenstein for the first time and let me tell you: I LOVED IT! :D I’m taking British Literature at my school and I’m kind of falling in love with it. Besides the fact that my professor is BRITISH (I am very happy in that class) the poems we read are very interesting. Not only is the content good but I’m learning a lot about the people that wrote during the period of the time (1600 – 1800’s). And I guess I have a few things to say about this book.

1) Like probably most people of the world, I always thought that Frankenstein was the MONSTER’S name. But no. it turns out that it’s the name of his creator! Victor Frankenstein.

 2) Unless I read the entire thing completely wrong. Elizabeth and Victor are cousins. . . and yet . . . they MARRIED! 0_0 INCEST!!!!

 3) I don’t like that ALL of the women died in this book. I mean, I consider myself a feminist and I think that Justine, Elizabeth, Victor’s mother (the name escapes me. I think its Caroline or something) all die innocent, which means that their persona and character weren’t tainted and they had no faults so they didn’t deserve to die. “Frankenstein” can be considered a feminine text in more than one example. One of them is that the good nature of women, or women in general are degraded completely. Elizabeth and Justine both die innocent. There is never any tainting of their characters and they still get punished for trying to be brave and strong and to love. More so Elizabeth is described as a “Summer insect,” by Victor. This shows that the men are still in control of women. Victor treats Elizabeth like a pet by telling her to do his bidding and she gladly accepts that. She is subservient to him and she likes it that way. AS the story continues, Victor now calls Elizabeth a “Bird.” So now she has been promoted to animal from insect. Victor tends on her as if she were an animal. She is, in Victor’s words, “a personal, thinking animal.” There is also the case of the female Frankenstein. When Victor is ordered to create her by the male monster, we see Victor go through a sense of terror. He is afraid that the female monster will be more destructive and deathly than the make because she is a woman; she will act on sentiment and feeling. So that, in case, means that her fate and future is already being decided for her even before being “born.” So, by this example, Mary Shelley depicts a call to action through her writing that women need to be stopped being controlled and degraded by men.

 . . . haha. Yeah. I got technical.

As for movies, I, by accident, saw The Bling Ring and let me tell you:

1) I AM SO INCONTRAVERTABLY AND IRREVOCABLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY IN LOVE WITH EMMA WATSON!!!!! EVER SINCE THE FIRST DAY I SAW HER IN A TRAIN AND ASKED FOR A TOAD!!!! !!!! !!!! <3 <3 <3

2)I know the movie was practically pointless but if the director of that movie told Emma to portray an “idiot” (no offense to the real life person she is pretending to be) the Emma could not have done a more perfect job. And this just adds to how great and diverse and actress she is.

3) AND NEED I MENTION HOW FLAWLESS HER AMERICAN ACCENT WAS!!!!???? In my opinion it was more polished and smooth than it was in Perks of Being a Wallflower (I loved her in that one too)

. . . And with that, i say mischief managed ;)  (funny how one thing leads into another in life, isn't it?)

A Little About Something

I can't believe i actually got this to work!!! (happy dance). :) Ok. Good. So first of all, let me take this time to tell you where this whole blogging thing comes from. I was first introduced to blogging when i was in High School. One of my favorite English teachers of all time, Mrs. Mains, had all of us in the class create one for a series of homework assignments. She gave us surnames of famous writers. I got Frederick Douglass. I believe we had to post two things before the year ended. The following year, Junior year, another one of my all time favorite English teachers (I love all of them but my high school career was full of many incredible people) Mrs. Eddy continued the blogging assignments. Only this time she made us spend a lot more time with it. She gave every one of her students names of famous writers. Since i am Hispanic, i went from Frederick Douglass to Octavio Paz. So that year, the most intense school year i have ever and probably will EVER have, i ended up posting twelve more assignments making in total 14 posts for my first blog ever.

I didn't continue to use it senior year because i joined ASB and that is a whole other story filled with ups and downs and i rather not get into it. Maybe in another future post. But anyway, that was my first experience ever with blogging. And for two years i never logged in and my blog gathered digital dust. In those two years a lot of things happened. i graduated from High School as a apart of the honors section. My family was very proud of their little nerd. (i use that label with the highest form of pride(I would wear a t-shirt). The summer between high school and college was very busy for me. Why? because i was working on the only thing that matters most to me more than anything in the world: my novel. I have been a writer for as long as i can remember. When i was little i remember always holding a pencil and paper in each of my hands. I drew and wrote what my already endless imagination ordered me to. However, it wasn't until i was in the fourth grade, did my lifetime occupation dawn upon me. The scene happened as follows: I was listening to my teacher, Mrs. Reed, explain how to divide fractions. Now, i was never good at math. it just wasn't my thing so i basically ended up daydreaming. Luckily my classroom was rich enough to have more than four windows on the walls. And it was even more lucky that my seat was right next to one. I loved that window. I really did. I remember there was a park next to my school and, well i remember reading somewhere that looking at green scenery makes you more creative. And i guess whoever said that was right. All it took was a boring day and an even more boring lesson, a cloudless sky, a green field, and an overactive and curious imagination. The result was - well not really a result. more like the start of something new - a character. This character came with endless information about a world that was unraveling inside my head. Fact after fact after fact revealed itself and the worst thing was that the only paper available to me at the time was that of my textbook. And after all, you can't write in them. But i took a chance. I wrote all over the white parts of lesson three. In fact I filled the page. I saved it, and kept the book close until i got home. When i was alone, i ripped the page from the margin and kept it safe. I don't remember what happened to that page but thank goodness, i transferred what i wrote onto my notebook. And the rest is history.

I finished my novel on the last day of 2012. I don't know why, but i felt like it would have been good luck or something. Ever since that day when i was ten, all i have wanted to be is a writer. I do it because it i s the only thing that actually keeps me calm, cool, and collected. I'm a very stressful and worrying person by genetics (I blame my mother)so you can only guess how much i write. To be exact: two novels worth as of today. I'm editing the first one and writing the sequel. Its a long process, but i love doing it so i never tire of it. It's may passion and i hope to make a living off of my books. So long story short (i don't think that was short haha) i am an English major doing nothing but reading and writing.

My friends know what i want to do with my writing and they have suggested in more than one occasion to make a blog. "That's how most authors start off" they say. at first i din't believe them. but now, actually thinking about it, i think they're correct. And i trust my friends. They would never push me off course. But like my introduction says, i don't wish to become blog famous in the slightest. All i want is to get used to this. Maybe get some connections out of this, i don't know. That and i think i could have fun with it. Like i do when i write. :)

So that is a little bit of something for you. just to get this thing started. I plan to post things on here as frequently as i can. What with school and all i suppose i'll have to make up a scheduled date. I'll get back to you guys on that. As for what this blog will consist of, i think I've got a pretty good set of ideas :)

On my facebook i used to do these little sections of what i called "Random Updates" where basically i would bullet point twenty to thirty random thoughts that i picked up during the day. A lot of my friends thought it was really funny and they were really entertained by it. So that's one thing i'd like to do. And then, of course, i'd like to maybe write reviews of movies I've watched or shows i like. Or even books that I've read. Or i could simply tell you something interesting that happened in school or at home :). I don't really expect to be formal when i do this, but i know there will be some instances where i will be. But mostly for entertainment purposes i hope to be as creative as possible :). So without further or do, let the mischief begin! p.s I love Harry Potter. And a good friend of mine, Erin, suggested i end every post with "mischief managed". Kudos to him!
